A relaxed afternoon of flying together

A relaxed afternoon of flying together

A free afternoon, a little curiosity and time together: that is enough to start planning a family drone outing. The aim is not a perfect video. It is enjoying the small discoveries along the way.

Choose the place before packing

An open-looking space is not automatically a permitted flying area. Check local restrictions, the weather and your drone's instructions before leaving. Choose somewhere you can keep clear of other people and obstacles. Have a different activity ready if conditions are unsuitable.

Give everyone a role

One person operates the controls; others stay at a safe distance and watch. An adult should plan and supervise the activity. Follow the product's age guidance and applicable pilot-age rules. Watching a careful takeoff can be just as interesting as holding the controller.

Keep the first goal small

A short, controlled takeoff and landing is a worthwhile first session. Pause between attempts, talk about what felt different and stop before tiredness or frustration takes over. Follow the manual's battery warnings.

Leave room for the rest of the afternoon too: a walk, a snack and a story to take home. Start with our first-flight checklist, review the drone rules guide, or compare our beginner drones.
