Battery care

Good battery habits start with the instructions for your exact model. Charging time, charger requirements and storage conditions can vary; do not assume that E88 MAX and K5 use interchangeable batteries or chargers.

Before charging

  • Switch off the drone and follow its manual for removing or disconnecting the battery.
  • Check the battery, cable and connectors. Do not use a swollen, leaking, damaged or unusually hot battery.
  • Let the battery cool after flight. Keep connectors clean and dry.
  • Use only the specified compatible cable, charger and power source. Do not guess the required voltage or charging time.

While charging

Charge on a stable, non-flammable surface, away from fabric and other combustible materials. Stay nearby and supervise charging; do not charge while asleep or away from home. Keep batteries out of children's reach. Stop using equipment that becomes unusually hot or damaged and seek advice before charging again.

After charging and flying

Disconnect charging equipment when charging is complete, following the manual's indicator guidance. Land promptly when the drone gives its low-battery warning. Repeated takeoff attempts after a low-battery warning are not a way to extend a session.

Storage and transport

Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat and metal objects that could bridge the terminals. Follow the manufacturer's storage-charge instructions. Do not leave the battery in a hot car. Protect the battery and connectors from crushing or short circuits during transport.

If travelling by air, check your airline's current battery rules before packing. Damaged batteries should not be taken on a flight. Read EASA's dangerous-goods guidance.

If something is wrong

Do not open, puncture or attempt to repair a battery. For a damaged or defective battery, contact support@djirone.com for guidance and follow local battery collection requirements. Do not put batteries in household waste or send a damaged battery back without shipping instructions. If there is smoke or fire, move away, warn others and contact emergency services.
