Your first sessions: small goals, steady progress

Your first sessions: small goals, steady progress

Learning to fly does not have to mean doing everything on the first afternoon. A useful starting point is to decide what you want to practise before switching on the drone.

Learn the controls on the ground

Read your model's manual and identify its controls, pairing procedure and landing instructions. Similar-looking controllers can work differently. Do not copy a button sequence from another model or an unrelated video.

Practise one thing at a time

Once your location, conditions and pre-flight checks are suitable, begin with the basic exercises recommended in the manual. A controlled takeoff and landing may be enough. Build familiarity before adding new movements, and keep the aircraft within your sight and the permitted operating area.

Pause and notice

After landing safely and switching off as instructed, ask yourself what felt clear and what felt uncertain. Re-read the relevant part of the manual before another attempt. If the aircraft behaves unexpectedly or appears damaged, stop using it and ask for help.

Finish while you are still focused

Longer is not always better. Respect battery warnings, take breaks and end the session when concentration drops. Confidence comes from repeatable, careful actions rather than pushing for distance or height.
